The Challenge

To equalize, time-align, and seamlessly blend more than 400 loudspeakers into one smooth, cohesive system—delivering exceptional clarity and intelligibility for the venue’s legendary game announcer of more than 40 years.

The system also needed to reproduce more than six decades of music—from the 1960s through today—with the clarity, impact, and tonal balance audiences expect from a modern sound system.

The Next Gen Solution

  • Inspected and tested every individual loudspeaker and its components.

  • Integrated a custom-designed, proprietary signal-routing and equalization system.

  • Grouped four different loudspeaker types and routed each group to dedicated processing outputs.

  • Rewired the main seating-level loudspeaker system into a true stereo configuration.

  • Equalized, time-aligned, and blended four levels of loudspeakers into one cohesive listening experience.

The Result

Using advanced equalization, signal-processing, and routing technology, Next Gen A/V & Designs brought a 20-year-old loudspeaker system back to life—dramatically improving its speech intelligibility, musicality, tonal balance, and overall clarity to deliver performance comparable to today’s modern loudspeaker systems.

THE SHORT STORY

2018 RC1 Productions, know rebranded as “Next Gen AV Designs was contracted by Monarch Sports Media to do a walk through of the speaker system at the New York Yankees stadium, After a two day walk through and listening session, it was the determination that the 20 plus year old speaker system still had some life, but it needed some better Eq’ing and overall system blending.

The first task was to separate by seating level and zones the four or five different speaker types into manageable output groups so they could be leveled and EQ’ed individually.

The next thing we did was to re-configure the main seating level speaker system from mono into stereo using a proprietary routing and equalization system that was integrated into the existing stadium audio infrastructure.

The final task was to blend and time align all of the seating levels and zones together so they would work together seamlessly to create one big sound without one section over shadowing the other.

The Yankees owner, technical staff and most importantly the fans have been extremely satisfied for the last 8- years !
